Fairmont’s fun line up of classes are taught with a creative, hands-on approach and individualized instruction on subjects that pique students curiosity and interests. Writers and non-writers unite! Have you ever thought about a cool story and couldn't figure out how to put it together on paper? Have you ever experienced something and couldn't quite describe it well? Students will engage in a 2-week process to conceptualize, plan, draft, publish, and illustrate completed works of literary art! We will be diving into different stories, learning about the writing styles of different authors, and scavenging the treasure troves of word choice to expand our schema of words. Critical thinking, problem solving, perspective shifts, and research skills are just a few of the concepts that we will be learning more about and intertwining throughout these two weeks!

Get your ticket to ride at Bricks 4 Kidz' very own Amusement Park using LEGO® bricks!! Students will engineer and build new rides by learning how to make things spin, roll, turn and rock in order to design their own thrills and challenges. Motorized models, carnival themed games, group challenges and model-building maximize the action and the fun. Please bring a snack and drink. All campers receive a Customized Minifigure and Certificate of Achievement on the last day of camp.

Swimmers will focus on learning four swim strokes as well as practicing water safety in small groups designed to help all children become more confident in the water. Coach Lemke has been teaching Fairmont students for the past 10 years and is a Certified Instructor and Lifeguard with the American Red Cross. Space is limited! No class held on the July 4th holiday.

SKATE KIDS Skateboarding Camp is a structured 3 hour camp that teaches hands on skateboarding. In our 4 day program. Students will learn at his or her own pace. Run by world renowned skateboarding professional Kurtis Colamonico and staff. Students will leave with new self- confidence and the skills Colamonico has learned to master in his two decades of experience, competition and performance. Students will learn the safety requirements of skateboarding, build fine motor skills, gain control of balance on a skateboard, improve arm and leg coordination, and reflexes while making friends in the comfort of Fairmont Private School. Loner boards, helmets, and sets of elbow and knee pads are available to the first 15 people registered. Any registrations after will need to bring personal skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads. This camp is designed for all skill levels. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced kids.

In this fun and exciting class, students will work with a variety of clay types: ceramic, air dry and polymer clays. We will also use plaster wrap to create a dimensional sculpture. Students will learn hand-building techniques to create an animal, vessel, wall sconce and trivet along with a decorative magnet, pendant, beads and miniature figures for a fairy garden. Ceramic pieces will be both bisque and glazed fired.

Come join the class for learning fun as we draw and paint in a variety of mediums. Projects will include cartooning in both caricature and anime style, traditional drawing using light, shadow and dimension, painting in watercolor and acrylic on canvas along with mixed media collage. Students will have fun experimenting with non traditional painting tools as well. Work will be mounted and kept in a simple portfolio which goes home at the end of the session.

Campers will learn sewing terminology, ironing, cutting patterns, machine sewing basics (back stitching pivoting, seam allowances and various other techniques with each project), plus they’ll learn to thread the sewing machine. Using their new skills, campers will complete two projects during the week - pajama shorts and a backpack!
*There is $40 materials fee, which can be paid on the first day of camp.

Junior Magician day camp teaches the amazing performance art of magic through interactive lessons & activities! Participants will learn magic tricks, routines, and will craft some of their own magic gear to take home! Our magic curriculum includes classic magic tricks, history of magic plus performance art & presentation lessons. Junior magicians also learn tricks using optical illusions, magnets, camouflage, and more to teach science behind the magic tricks! The activities are designed for beginners to advanced, all are welcomed! Each child will receive a magic gift and certification of participation on the last day.
